The Journal of Historical Sociology was founded in 1988 on the conviction that historical and social studies ultimately have a common subject matter and can only benefit from the interchange of ideas and perspectives. Edited by a distinguished international panel of historians, anthropologists, geographers and sociologists, it is both interdisciplinary in approach and innovative in content. As well as refereed articles, the journal presents reviews essays and commentary in its 'Issues and Agendas' section, and aims to provoke discussion and debate.

Sociology of Health & Illness is an international journal which publishes sociological articles on all aspects of health, illness, medicine and health care. We welcome empirical and theoretical contributions in this field in the form of original research reports or review articles. In addition to the six regular issues published each year, subscribers receive a further special issue. These themed issues aim to identify and contribute to new areas of debate and research in the discipline and each issue is devoted to an important topic of current interest.

Software - Practice and Experience is an internationally respected and rigorously refereed vehicle for the dissemination and discussion of practical experience with new and established software for both systems and applications. The key criterion for publication of a paper is that it makes a contribution from which other persons engaged in software design and implementation might benefit. Originality is also important. Soil Use and Management provides an international forum for those applying scientific principles to understand and solve important soil problems as they affect crop production and environmental issues. Published four times a year on behalf of British Society of Soil Science, Soil Use and Management contains highly relevant, original research and aims to communicate an understanding of management techniques for the sustainable use of land. Papers taking a broad view of 'use' and 'management' covering agriculture, forestry and amenity provision are accepted.

The South African Journal of Economics (SAJE) has a long and distinguished history, ranking amongst the oldest generalist journals in economics.

The SEJ is a publication of the Southern Economic Assocation. The SEJ began its publication in 1933 and it is the 8th oldest American academic journal in the economic profession. It is indexed in the Internet Index of Periodicals & Public Affairs Information Services, Journal of Economic Literature, and SSI. Impact Factor in 2011: 0.633.

Stat is a scientific journal for the international community of statisticians and researchers and practitioners in allied quantitative disciplines.

Statistica Neerlandica publishes research and expository material about new developments in probability, statistics and operations research, and their applications in medical, agricultural, econometric, physical or social sciences and industry, commerce and government. The emphasis is on clarity, accessibility for the general reader, and applicability. In particular, Statistica Neerlandica shows how, for certain practical problems, statistics or operations research can play a valuable role in decision making.

The journal aims to influence practice in medicine and its associated sciences through the publication of papers on statistical and other quantitative methods. Papers will explain new methods and either demonstrate their application, preferably through a substantive, real, motivating example or a comprehensive evaluation based on an illustrative example. Alternatively, papers will report on case-studies where creative use or technical generalizations of established methodology is directed towards a substantive application. Reviews of, and tutorials on, general topics relevant to the application of statistics to medicine will also be published. The main criteria for publication will be appropriateness of the statistical methods to a particular medical problem and clarity of exposition. Papers with primarily mathematical content will be excluded. The journal aims to enhance communication between statisticians, clinicians and medical researchers.

Strain is an international journal that contains contributions from leading-edge research on the measurement of the mechanical behaviour of structures and systems. Strain updates engineers and scientists with new developments in measurement and current research activities. The journal includes papers from all engineering disciplines that deal with material behaviour and degradation under load, structural design and measurement techniques.
