The Journal of Korean Studies is dedicated to quality articles, in all disciplines, on a broad range of topics concerning Korea, both historical and contemporary that take into account the literature in both Korean and English. The Journal of Korean Studies was founded in 1969 by the Korean Studies Society. The first series had two issues: Volume 1 no. 1 (1969) and Volume 1 no. 2 (1971). In 1979, the second series began and volumes were published annually until 1992. Reinaugurated in 2004, the journal is now sponsored by the University of Washington Center for Korean Studies.

The Journal of Language and Politics (JLP) represents a forum for analysing and discussing the various dimensions in the interplay of language and politics. The basic assumption is that the language of politics cannot be separated from the politics of language. The notion of ’Political Discourse’ does not remain limited to the ’institutional’ field of politics (e.g. parliamentary discourse, election campaigns, party programmes, speeches, etc.) but opens to all linguistic manifestations that may be considered to be political, provided that it is convincingly argued what makes them ’political’. In order to illuminate new and old forms of political discourses inter- and transdisciplinary perspectives and elaborated linguistic methodologies have to complement each other.Articles should bring together sociological concepts, political theories, and historical analysis. Methodologies can be qualitative or quantitative and must be well grounded in linguistics or other relevant disciplines. They may focus on different dimensions (pragmatics, semantics, social cognition, semiotics) of political discourse. Since political discourses overlap with other discourses, e.g. economic and scientific discourses, perspectives of interdiscursivity and intertextuality are considered to be important. Articles based on ethnographic studies will be particularly welcome.The Journal of Language and Politics welcomes review papers of any research monograph or edited volume which takes a discourse-analytical approach to the study of language and politics, as broadly conceived above. The Journal of Latinos and Education (JLE) provides a cross-, multi-, and interdisciplinary forum for scholars and writers from diverse disciplines who share a common interest in the analysis, discussion, critique, and dissemination of educational issues that impact Latinos. There are four broad arenas which encompass most issues of relevance: (1) Policy, (2) Research, (3) Practice, and (4) Creative & Literary Works.JLE encourages novel ways of thinking about the ongoing and emerging questions around the unifying thread of Latinos and education. The journal supports dialogical exchange--for researchers, practitioners, authors, and other stakeholders who are working to advance understanding at all levels and aspects--be it theoretical, conceptual, empirical, clinical, historical, methodological, and/or other in scope. The Journal of Leukocyte Biology (JLB) has its origins in the Journal of the Reticuloendothelial Society (JRES) and is today an increasingly highly recognized international journal reporting scientific advances in leukocyte biology.In 1922, Karl Albert Ludwig Aschoff (1866–1942) coined the term “reticuloendothelial system” (RES) [1]. The RES concept was introduced as early as 1914 by Kenji Kiyono (1855–1955). One of the most prominent characteristics of RES cells was their propensity for absorption and storage of vital stains in granular form that had been introduced into the blood in solution. .

In one forum, Journal of Loss and Trauma brings together scholarship on personal losses relating to family, health, and aging issues. The journal addresses issues dealing with psychological and physical health and interpersonal losses relative to extended family, community life, and society as a whole. In order to broaden the reader's perspective on loss and bereavement, the journal defines loss as a major reduction in a person's resources, whether personal, material, or symbolic, to which the person was emotionally attached. Types of loss covered include: death and dying; dissolution and divorce; loss of employment; life-threatening diseases and long-term disability; loss of possessions; homelessness; recurring and haunting memories; disenfranchisement and stigmatization; losses resulting from war and violence; and aging. The Journal of Loss & Trauma highlights common as well as differing impacts of major losses while revealing commonalities of the various healing processes. Interdisciplinary in its approach, the journal publishes empirically-oriented papers, case studies with intervention strategies, point-counterpoint discussions, theoretical analyses, essays on concepts or links among relevant fields, and therapeutic approaches. Book reviews are also regular features. Over the past two decades, the relatively new areas of business ethics, environmental accountability, and corporate responsibility have established their place in business, in organizational theory and in the classroom. At the same time we have evidenced a rising interest in spirituality and in mainstream religion, both of which are making their way into the corporate boardroom in a variety of manifestations - from corporate values through life-work balance to Fung Shui and meditation. Some argue that the age of the 'moral organization' has come, and not too soon either, in the wake of the Enron, Worldcom and Parmalat scandals. The meltdown of financial markets we are currently experiencing is a cause to pause and reflect, as is the surging economies of China and India, representing new thinking on managing and organizing. At the same time, degree programmes combining religious studies and theology with business studies and management have been expanding. In addition, students for priesthood are expected to learn how to manage resources as part of their role. And yet from another end, religious-inspired organizations play a decisive role in our societies, running the spectrum from Mother Theresa's mission of hope and peace, to Bin Laden's 'mission' of destruction. As evidenced in the recent formation and success of the Management, Spirituality and Religion Special Interest Group of the Academy of Management, this field is gathering momentum. Yet, so far, it has no dedicated forum for disseminating work, for the development of theory and best practice, and for the exchange of ideas and debate. The growing number of devoted courses have no specialized journal to whet their students' appetite, and students undertaking research work have as yet no scholarly address for their enquiries. Journal of Management, Spirituality & Religion (JMSR) aims to become the first port of call for academics in this fast expanding scholarly area. JMSR serves three large communities: (1) students, scholars and practitioners of spirituality, (2) management academics and practising managers, and (3) religion scholars and religious leaders. JMSR aims to serve as a meeting forum and help cross-fertilisation in these communities. It wishes to encompass, without prejudging any belief, a multitude of interests and concerns. Our sole criterion is academic rigour and scientific merit. Since its first issue in 2004, JMSR has published some 100 papers and is helping to define this new exciting field. To date we are the only dedicated forum for disseminating work, for the development of theory and best practice, and for the exchange of ideas and debate in Management, Spirituality and Religion. We pledge to continue and be the recognized the leaders in this field of study. The Journal of Mathematical Behavior solicits original research on the learning and teaching of mathematics. We are interested especially in basic research, research that aims to clarify, in detail and depth, how mathematical ideas develop in learners. As our founding editor, Robert B. Davis, wrote in 1980:Scientific study is supposed to be a no-holds-barred attempt to identify key phenomena, and by building conceptual structures and collecting data, to explain and understand these phenomena.1Over three decades, our experience confirms a founding premise of this journal: that mathematical thinking, hence mathematics learning as a social enterprise, is special. It is special because mathematics is special, both logically and psychologically. Logically, through the way that mathematical ideas and methods have been built, refined and organized for centuries across a range of cultures; and psychologically, through the variety of ways people today, in many walks of life, make sense of mathematics, develop it, make it their own. Historically, this journal has sought and welcomed papers that develop detailed, fundamental understanding of how people, in realistic settings, build, retain, communicate, apply and understand important mathematical ideas.Our intended audience includes researchers who concentrate on the learning of mathematics and science, psychologists, mathematicians, cognitive scientists, teachers, teacher educators, curriculum developers, parents, administrators, and policy makers.On this basis, we especially encourage basic studies that might indicate a range of possibilities not commonly recognized. Such studies might clarify potential obstacles to student understanding of mathematics; describe and analyze relevant efforts to improve curriculum or pedagogy in mathematics, at any level, from early childhood through adulthood; offer analyses of appropriate goals for mathematics curricula for diverse student populations; and critically discuss what might be changed in curricula or in learning experiences.In addition to more formal studies, the editors welcome dialogue, discussion, and debate. The Journal of Mathematics Teacher Education (JMTE) is devoted to research into the education of mathematics teachers and development of teaching that promotes students' successful learning of mathematics. JMTE focuses on all stages of professional development of mathematics teachers and teacher-educators and serves as a forum for considering institutional, societal and cultural influences that impact on teachers' learning, and ultimately that of their students. Critical analyses of particular programmes, development initiatives, technology, assessment, teaching diverse populations and policy matters, as these topics relate to the main focuses of the journal, are welcome. All papers are rigorously refereed.Papers may be submitted to one of three sections of JMTE as follows: Research papers: these papers should reflect the main focuses of the journal identified above and should be of more than local or national interest.Mathematics Teacher Education Around the World: these papers focus on programmes and issues of national significance that could be of wider interest or influence.Reader Commentary: these are short contributions: for example, offering a response to a paper published in JMTE or developing a theoretical idea. Authors should state clearly the section to which they are submitting a paper. As general guidance, papers should not normally exceed the following word lengths: (1) 10,000 words: (2) 5,000 words: (3) 3,000 words. Maximum word lengths exclude references, figures, appendices, etc.Critiques of reports or books that relate to the main focuses of JMTE appear as appropriate.

Journal of Medical Humanities publishes original papers that reflect its enlarged focus on interdisciplinary inquiry in medicine and medical education. Such inquiry can emerge in the following ways: (1) from the medical humanities, which includes literature, history, philosophy, and bioethics as well as those areas of the social and behavioral sciences that have strong humanistic traditions: (2) from cultural studies, a multidisciplinary activity involving the humanities: women's, African-American, and other critical studies: media studies and popular culture: and sociology and anthropology, which can be used to examine medical institutions, practice and education with a special focus on relations of power: and (3) from pedagogical perspectives that elucidate what and how knowledge is made and valued in medicine, how that knowledge is expressed and transmitted, and the ideological basis of medical education.

Aims & Scope: This is the practical, bimonthly, research-based journal for all professionals concerned with the care of neonates and their families, both in hospital and the community. It aims to support the development of the essential practice, management, education and health promotion skills required by these professionals. The JNN will provide a forum for the exchange of ideas and information between the range of professionals working in this field; promote cooperation between these professionals; facilitate partnership care with families; provide information and informed opinion; promote innovation and change in the care of neonates and their families; and provide an education resource for this important rapidly developing field. The focus of JNLS B includes microsurgery as well as the latest minimally invasive techniques, such as stereotactic-guided surgery, endoscopy, and endovascular procedures. JNLS B is devoted to the techniques and procedures of skull base surgery.

The work of publishing houses like Freund Publishing house ltd, an Israel publishing house, is quite complicated. The editor chooses from the "manuscripts" submitted to the publishing house, previously published works, works published in other languages, or command works, works that fit the editorial line of its collections. After any corrections, it shall communicate the text to a printer in suitable technical characteristics of the book and the number of copies to print.The editor takes the bulk of the financial risks of publishing. The profits go mainly to the broadcaster and distributor of books, which are responsible, to canvass the booksellers and take their orders as well as routing the books to bookstores, to fill orders taken. These operations cost the publisher between 50 and 60% of turnover generated by the book. The rest of sales goes to the author (about 10% share of this figure much lower, around 6% for comic books, and can reach 20% or more for best sellers) and the publisher, who can pay, in addition to its employees (editorial assistants, press officers, charged with manufacture, designer, etc..), the entire work of the book (printers, proofreaders, freelance photographers, possibly librarians, etc.. ). The publisher who coordinates the course of the "book chain" and, often, which also establishes the financial plan incorporating the expected costs and expected gains, as in any business.
