Linguistica Pragensia is a well-established Prague academic journal replacing the journal Philologica Pragensia. The journal aimsto develop the live ideas of the Prague School of Linguistics and the methodology of functional structuralism. The international mathematics education community is maturing at a rapid and exciting rate. Although this community has developed its own research perspectives and theoretical frameworks, it continues to expand its horizons by drawing upon new theories and research in mathematics, psychology, sociology, philosophy, anthropology, and information technology. Mathematical Thinking and Learning is directed at researchers interested in mathematics education from any of these perspectives, with a particular focus on mathematical thinking, reasoning, and learning.This journal seeks high-quality articles that address one or more of the following topics: interdisciplinary studies on mathematical learning, reasoning or thinking, and their developments at all ages; technological advances and their impact on mathematical thinking and learning; studies that explore the diverse processes of mathematical reasoning; new insights into how mathematical understandings develop across the life span, including significant transitional periods; changing perspectives on the nature of mathematics and their impact on mathematical thinking and learning in both formal and informal contexts; studies that explore the internationalization of mathematics education, together with other cross-cultural studies of mathematical thinking and learning; and studies of innovative instructional practices that foster mathematical learning, thinking, and development. The articles in Measurement and Evaluation in Counseling and Development (MEC) range from theoretical and other problems of the measurement specialist to those directed to the administrator, the counselor, or the personnel worker--in schools and colleges, public and private agencies, business, industry, and government. All articles clearly describe implications for the counseling field and for practitioners in assessment, measurement, and evaluation.
Media Psychology is an interdisciplinary journal devoted to publishing theoretically-oriented empirical research that is at the intersection of psychology and media communication. These topics include media uses, processes, and effects. Such research is already well represented in mainstream journals in psychology and communication, but its publication is dispersed across many sources. Therefore, scholars working on common issues and problems in various disciplines often cannot fully utilize the contributions of kindred spirits in cognate disciplines. By providing a high-quality, common publication outlet for psychologists, communication researchers, human developmental specialists, and other scholars who are interested in the psychological consequences of the broad spectrum of communication media, potentially fertile cross-disciplinary work can flourish. Although most of the published articles will report original empirical research that bridges media communication and psychology, state-of-the-art reviews and meta-analyses that provide a major synthesis of primary research findings in a pivotal area will be considered. Studies of messages using single exemplars must include justification for the message selection and implications for generalizability. Manuscripts will be judged by the degree to which they contribute to theory and advance the body of knowledge about the psychology of uses, processes, or effects of the media. Memory Studies examines the social, cultural, cognitive, political and technological shifts affecting how, what and why individuals, groups and societies remember, and forget.
Mental Health and Physical Activity is an international forum for scholarly reports on any aspect of relevance to advancing our understanding of the relationship between mental health and physical activity. Manuscripts will be considered for publication which deal with high quality research, comprehensive research reviews, and critical reflection of applied or research issues. The journal is open to the use of diverse methodological approaches.
