The Journal of Risk and Uncertainty features both theoretical and empirical papers that analyze risk-bearing behavior and decision-making under uncertainty. The journal serves as an outlet for important, relevant research in decision analysis, economics, and psychology. Among the topics covered in the journal are decision theory and the economics of uncertainty, psychological models of choice under uncertainty, risk and public policy, experimental investigations of behavior under uncertainty, and empirical studies of real-world, risk-taking behavior. Articles begin with an introductory discussion explaining the nature of the research and the interpretation and implications of the findings at a level that is accessible to researchers in other disciplines.Officially cited as: J Risk Uncertain
The birth of the Journal of Robotic Surgery is perfectly timed as the field of robotics has evolved past its infancy and has proven itself to be a useful and lasting innovation. The use of robotics in surgery is now broad-based across multiple surgical specialties and will undoubtedly expand over the next decades as new technical innovation and techniques increase the applicability of its use. Currently, there is unprecedented enthusiasm worldwide for the application of robotics in surgery. However, there does seem to be a void in literary resources supporting the growth of this new field of surgery. Robotic articles are published in a variety of broad surgical journals, but none is seen as the leading resource for robotic surgical education. The aim of the Journal is to become the leading worldwide journal for publications of articles related to robotic surgery, encompassing surgical simulation and integrated imaging techniques. The journal provides a centralized, focused resource for physicians wishing to publish their experience or those wishing to educate themselves of the most up to date findings. The scope includes: Adult and pediatric urology: prostate cancer, bladder cancer, renal cancer, pyeloplasty, bladder reconstruction General surgery: esophageal, gastric, bariatric, liver, pancreatic, colon Cardiac: bypass, valves, anomalies Gynecology: perinatal, oncologic (ovarian, uterine) , benign (myomas, bladder suspension) ENT: cancer Orthopedics: reconstruction Neurosurgery: spine, brain Structure/ Content Reviews Original articles Techniques Tricks of the trade Video library resource Section focusing on private sector Review of meetings and books Current opinion Robotic survey Training and Education Simulat, ion and imaging
