The Journal of The Electrochemical Society (JES) was launched in 1902 as the society's flagship journal, and publishes outstanding research covering fundamental and applied areas of electrochemistry, including experimental and theoretical aspects of electrodes, interfaces, and devices.

The Journal of the European Academy of Dermatology and Venereology (JEADV) publishes articles of general and practical interest in the field of dermatology and venereology including clinical and basic science topics, as well as research with practical implications. It does so through editorials, review and practice articles, original papers of general interest, short reports, letters to the editor, features and EADV announcements.

The Journal of the European Ceramic Society publishes the results of original research and reviews relating to ceramic materials. Papers of either an experimental or theoretical character will be welcomed on a fully international basis. The emphasis is on novel generic science concerning the relationships between processing, microstructure and properties of polycrystalline ceramics consolidated at high temperature. Papers may relate to any of the conventional categories of ceramic: structural, functional, traditional or composite. The Journal of the European Economic Association (JEEA) has a worldwide reputation for publishing articles of the highest scientific quality in theoretical and empirical economics for a global audience. It currently has an Impact Factor of 1.425 and is ranked 54 out of 247 in the ISI Economics category. Its impact factor has risen each year since it was first included in 2007.

The Journal of the European Mathematical Society (JEMS) is the official journal of the EMS. The Society, founded in 1990, works at promoting joint scientific efforts between the many different structures that characterize European mathematics. JEMS will publish research articles in all active areas of pure and applied mathematics. These will be selected by a distinguished, international board of editors for their outstanding quality and interest, according to the highest international standards. Occasionally, substantial survey papers on topics of exceptional interest will also be published. Starting in 1999, the Journal has been published by Springer-Verlag until the end of 2003. Since 2004 it is published by the EMS Publishing House. The first Editor-in-Chief of the Journal was J. Jost, succeeded by H. Brezis in 2003.

This special issue, devoted to diffractive optics, is loosely associated with EOS Topical Meeting on Diffractive Optics organized in Koli, Finland, in February 2010. Most of the papers deal with topics presented in the conference, but that was not a requirement. The six papers of the special issue cover a wide variety of theoretical and experimental topics with a slight emphasis on practical applications.

The Journal of the Pentecostal Theological Association ( JEPTA) is a peer-reviewed international journal which has a pedigree stretching back to 1981 when it began as the EPTA Bulletin. Despite its European origins JEPTA has interests in Pentecostalism world-wide. It aims to promote and report research and scholarship in Pentecostal and Charismatic studies especially in relation to five fields of study:

JESLA is the Journal of the European Second Language Association (EuroSLA). It publishes high-quality, peer-reviewed open-access articles in the field of second language research.
