Biomedicines (ISSN 2227-9059) is an international, open access journal aimed at bridging the gap between biological research and clinical practice. Biomedicines provides a forum for all aspects related to biomedicines—medicines that are made from, or contain, biological active substances. Biomedicines publishes cutting-edge research for a diverse audience: academic and clinical researchers, biotechnology companies, healthcare professionals, regulatory and ethical experts, and government and regulatory authorities. Such a multidisciplinary platform should help to promote the translation of basic biomedical research into the clinic to lead to the treatment of diseases.

Biology Bulletin (Izvestiya Rossiiskoi Akademii Nauk – Seriya Biologicheskaya) is an interdisciplinary journal of general biology. It focuses on fundamental studies in the fields of cell biology, biochemistry, zoology, botany, physiology, and ecology. This journal publishes current materials of experimental studies and surveys on current problems in general biology. It also publishes information on scientific conferences and new books in the fields of general biology. The Editorial Board welcomes contributions from foreign authors.

Biology Direct considers original research articles, hypotheses, comments, discovery notes and reviews in selected subject areas, and will eventually cover the full spectrum of biology. Launched as an independent journal in 2005 Biology Letters is a primarily online, peer-reviewed journal that publishes short, high-quality articles from across the biological sciences. The scope of Biology Letters is vast - publishing high-quality research in any area of the biological sciences. However, we have particular strengths in the biology, evolution and ecology of whole organisms. Biology Methods & Protocols publishes methodology and protocol papers in the biological sciences. It primarily publishes in the areas of genetics and heredity, biochemistry, molecular biology, ecology, evolutionary biology, marine and freshwater biology and cell biology. This includes but is not limited to genome research, genome bioinformatics, computational biology, human molecular genetics, GWAS, developmental genetics, cancer genetics, neurogenetics, therapy of genetic disease, nucleic acids and proteins, gene regulation, chromatin and epigenetics, RNA and structural biology, protein-nucleic acid interaction, recombinant DNA expression, microarray technology, ribosomes and protein translation, targeted gene modification, plant and animal ecology, plant and animal evolution, micro and macro evolutionary processes, ecosystem ecology, conservation ecology, evolutionary ecology, theoretical ecology, and behavioural ecology.

Biology Methods & Protocols encourages papers describing novel software papers.  Such papers should describe the software and one application of it.  We encourage authors to make their code available wherever possible.

Biology Open (BiO) is an Open Access journal that publishes rigorously conducted, high-quality research across the breadth of the biological and biomedical sciences. It provides timely, thorough, constructive and fair peer review, with a focus on supporting researchers and reducing the pain to publish. Biology and Fertility of Soils publishes in English original papers, reviews and short communications on all fundamental and applied aspects of biology – microflora and microfauna - and fertility of soils. It offers a forum for research aimed at broadening the understanding of biological functions, processes and interactions in soils, particularly concerning the increasing demands of agriculture, deforestation and industrialization. The journal includes articles on techniques and methods that evaluate processes, biogeochemical interactions and ecological stresses, and sometimes presents special issues on relevant topics. Biology of Sex Differences, the official journal of the Organization for the Study of Sex Differences, considers manuscripts on all aspects of the effects of sex on biology and disease.

BIOLOGY OF SPORT publishes reports of methodological and experimental work on science of sport, natural sciences, medicine and pharmacology, technical siences, biocybernetics and application of statistics and psychology, with priority for inter-discyplinary papers. Brief reviews of monographic papers on problems of sport, information on recent developments in research equipment and training aids, are also published. Papers are invided from researchers, coaches and all authors engaged in problems of trining effects, selection in sport as well as biological and social effects of athletic activity durning various periods of man's ontogenetic development.
